The purpose of these guidelines is to establish standards, procedures and criteria for the installation and care of donated features in Jamestown Parks and Recreation District owned properties. The District desires to encourage donations while at the same time manage aesthetic impacts and mitigate on-going maintenance costs. Donors may choose to participate in the tribute program for a variety of reasons. Examples are; in honor of, in appreciation of, in thanks to, in memorium, or in appreciation oTrif. The Tribute Program is designed to enable individuals to support JPRD through a tax-deductible contribution. Contributions will be acknowledged as described below. The acknowledgement is symbolic of the donation and does not entitle the donor to ownership of the particular donated feature. Donated features may include a tree, bench, paver and other features as approved by the JPRD Executive Director or designee.
Contour bench with maintenance-free planks on a concrete pad. An engraved plate designating the memorial is included. Donors may request the desired location for the bench to be placed, however, Jamestown Parks and Recreation may not be able to accommodate all requests and location is subject to change. Donations for memorial benches will be accepted throughout the year however installation will occur annually in September.
All trees will be native species and selected by the City of Jamestown Forester in consultation with the donor. Trees will be approximately 8’ tall. Donors may request the desired location for the tree to be placed, however, Jamestown Parks and Recreation may not be able to accommodate all requests. Donors may choose to recognize their gift as part of the online Legacy Tree Gallery by providing text and images to the JPRD staff. No type of plaque or signage will be installed on the tree. Donations for trees will be accepted throughout the year however planting will occur at the time period advised by forestry staff.
Jamestown Parks and Recreation Foundation invites you to become a permanent part of the Meidinger Splash Park, Meidinger Splash Park Courts, and McElroy Fields projects by purchasing a personalized brick to border the main pathways leading to each project. Purchasing a brick is an easy way to leave a lasting family legacy within the JPRD Foundation.
The bricks will create a beautiful border along the main pathways of these projects to honor our local citizens, family members, friends, veterans, pets, etc.
Honor the baseball fan in your life with a seat at Jack Brown Stadium. Donors may request the desired location for the seat among those on the first base line.
Other naming opportunities are available through Jamestown Parks and Recreation at the following locations; Two Rivers Activity Center, Meidinger Splash Park- Splash Pad and Courts, Sensory Garden at Solien-Denault Park, Jack Brown Stadium and McElroy Park Field Renovations.
