Celebrate the benefits of JPRD all summer long with our Scavenger Hunt!
Beginning on May 31, we will post a clue each week on social media and the JPRD website. Use the clue to find the Clue Marker at a JPRD location and win prizes! Clues will be posted each Friday morning. Grab your family, go on an outing around town, and find the clue marker together! Once you find the selected location, snap a picture with the clue marker and post on social media (make sure to tag JPRD).
Don’t have social media? No problem, emailthe picture to office@jamestownparksandrec.com or stop by the parks office during the week to show off your picture!
Pictures need to be posted by August 11th. Each entry will be eligible for prizes. Find multiple clues and be entered multiple times! Each clue marker will stay in the location all summer – so if you miss a week you can go back and still find it! Happy Hunting!
May 31st Clue:
Summer is in full swing! Take a drive and start our summer scavenger hunt. Remember it is ok if you’re not on course. Just short of Pro you will find the 1st sign. Now get out there and go fore it!
June 7th Clue:
Sign #2 is where all of this will soon look new. 80+ years down to the ground but back from the ashes anew because there is no place like home for everyone to enjoy peanuts and crackerjacks.
June 14th Clue:
Rally to find sign #3 in an area that you may hear best out of 3. This space got a new look lat year and lots of love starts here. An eye to the air you will spot yellow fuzzy spheres in either singles or pairs.
June 21st Clue:
Sign #4 is in a place children adore, I am where laughter meets spray, a place to cool on a sunny day. Kids run wild, splashing free. Find me where water is the key!
June 28th Clue:
Sign #5 is where all learners can thrive. Seek a place where colors bloom and fragrances dance in the air, where each step brings a new sensation and every step tells a story!
July 5th Clue:
Sign #6 is where 2 sports mix. The door to this thrills and chills space is where cold meets grace and the smooth surface keeps a fast pace!
July 12th Clue:
Sign #7 relaxing on the water is heaven, find this sign where the river bends and the paddes dip. Look towards a spot to launch your ship. We have added something new where all can find a ship to use!
July 19th Clue:
Sign #8 sometimes requires you to hold the date. Not where a downhill slide is run, but near here to warm hands, hearts and souls with socializing and fun.
Check out our free open play street hockey during the month of July in the west parking lot of the Winter Sports Building. We will provide hockey sticks, pucks and nets. Please wear closed toe athletic shoes and join us for some fun! You don’t have to be an experienced hockey player to join in the fun, it’s a great, fun activity for any skill set. Join us on Wednesday nights in July to check out how fun street hockey can be.

Join us for our first ever GLOW IN THE DARK 3v3 basketball tournament! Grab a team and enjoy a night of fun for only $10/player at Leapaldt Park in Jamestown.
Check-in will begin at 8:30pm with tip-off at sunset. Teams can be co-ed, all women or all men.
Divisions: 4th-5th grade, 6th-7th grade, 8th-9th grade and open division for 10th graders through adult. If registering a child, please register for the grade they are entering in the Fall.
Fees: $10/player. Register as a team at TRAC or the JPRD main office by July 24th.
August 11, 2024 starting at 2:00pm
August 11th is national ‘Play in the Sand Day’! Grab your friends and put a team together for 4-6 person tournament at McElroy Park. Co-ed teams must have both genders on the court at all times and this is a single elimination tourney.
Fees: $80 per team.

Join us for Mountain Bike races taking place on August 17th! We are creating new courses for an exciting new adventure this year. Find maps of the courses below! There is a kids race that is less than one mile long. The Beginner Race is 5+ miles, Recreational is 14+ miles, Sport Race is 24+ miles and the Expert Race is 32+ miles. There are cash prizes for the top 3 male and female expert finishers.

Grab the family and come on out for the Pipestem Creek Trail Walk/Run starting and ending at the Parkhust Campground. It’s a new course this year so join us for a morning of fun! There is something for everyone! We have a 3 mile walk, 3 mile run and 5 mile run. The 5K course is the same course as the State Cross Country Meet.
