Snow Castle Competition

February 4th, 10:00-1:00pm at the Hansen Arts Park


Now is the time to show off your snow fort building skills.  Who can create the most majestic snow castle in all the land?  With plenty of open space and pristine snow conditions, this will surely be a grand spectacle.  (Dress warmly and bring your snow shovels/building tools!)  Must have 5+ inches of snow on the ground for this event.

Kick Ball Tournament

Saturday, February 4th, 2023 – 2:00pm


Sign up for our Kick Ball Tournament happening at TRAC. Co-ed teams can have 8 – 12 people on them, 3 must be female.  Gather a team and register at the TRAC front desk today!  Registration forms can be found here or at the TRAC front desk.

Pool Carnival/Duck Races

Sunday, February 5th, 2023 – 1:00 – 3:00pm


Join us for a pool carnival at TRAC!  There will be games on the pool deck and duck races in the pool!  This event is free for TRAC members, non-members only have to pay for a day pass.

Are you new to group fitness or interested in trying a new class format? Well this fitness-a-thon might be the perfect opportunity for you! These sample classes are designed to introduce members and guests to different class formats without the stress of taking a full class on your first experience. So grab a friend, try some new classes at TRAC and find your new fitness favorite!


*Reservation is required for each class you choose to participate. Sign up online on the TRAC website or by calling the TRAC front desk at 952-8722.

Pinochle Tournament

Reverse 4’s Co-ed Volleyball Tournament

Saturday, February 11th, 2023 – Tournament begins at Noon.


Grab a team and sign up for our Reverse 4’s co-ed volleyball tournament at TRAC!  There is a 3 game guarantee and you must be 18 years or older to play.  Download a registration form below or stop by the TRAC front desk to sign up for this fun tournament!

The 63rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt is sponsored by the Elks #995 & Parks & Recreation Dept. and will be held on April 8, 2023 (weather permitting) at 11:00am in McElroy Park. We will also have the Easter Bunny there to help celebrate the day.  Get a picture with the Easter Bunny for only $10!

The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department and the “Wings on Strings” Kite Club are sponsoring the 27th annual kite festival at Meidinger Park Field (10th St. & 17th Ave. S.W.) on June 9 – 11, 2023.

Kids Kite Building on Saturday Only


Kite Fest has become a premier kiting event, attracting kite enthusiasts from across the country and Canada.  The event is free and open to everyone.  Events include fun contests for kids, kite making, candy drops, demonstrations, door prizes and music.

The “Wings on Strings” Kite Club and the Parks and Recreation Department will be conducting a kite building class during the Kite Festival, on Saturday, June 11th.  Materials will be provided.  Children 8 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.  You will be able to fly your kite after the Kite Building Class. Tennis Block Party

Quickstart Tennis Carnival

Join us at Bolinger Tennis Courts for this special day of tennis just for the kids!  Enjoy games, prizes, music, food and fun Kids of all ages and skill levels are welcome.  This is a great way to introduce young kids to the sport if they have never tried before. 



Kids Safety Day is set for June 29, 2023 at the Jamestown Civic Center from 9am to 1pm.


This event is free and open to all kids to age 12. Join us for fun and learning on how to stay safe including a bike rodeo, free bike helmets, weather safety, water safety, and much more!. Community partners participating include: Central Valley Health, Law Enforcement, Fire and Medical Response.

Gear Grinder Mountain Bike Race

Saturday, August 19th, 2023


Join us for Mountain Bike races located at the Pipestem Creek Trail, 4 miles north of Jamestown on Highway 281 next to the Pipestem Dam.  There are cash prizes for the top 6 male and female expert finishers. Plus all bikers will be eligible to win a Garmin Edge 530 Mountain Bike Bundle valued at $370 courtesy of 701 Cycle and Sport!


Registration is closed!  We will re-open registration before our 2023 race!



Kids Race (8 and under)



Kids Race is 4 to 5 loops near the Pipestem Dam office.

Beginner’s Race is 6 miles in length.  It starts at Pipestem Office, and follows gravel out to paved road, then returns on 3.5 miles of North Ridge Trail.

Recreational Race is 13.5 miles long and follows the Pipestem Creek Trail and gravel and horse trails.

The Sport race is 21.5 miles in length.  This trail is a combination of the North Ridge Trail and the Pipestem Trail.

The Expert Race is 29.5 miles long.  It expands on the Sport Race by adding an extra lap on the Pipestem Creek Trail.

Grab the family and come on out for the Pipestem Creek Trail Walk/Run located at the Pipestem Creek Trail, 4 miles north of Jamestown on Highway 281 next to the Pipestem Dam.  There is something for everyone!  We have a 3 mile walk, 3 mile run and 8 mile run.   Registration is closed.  We will reopen registration closer to the 2023 race date.
