Street Hockey Expo

Come learn more about Street Hockey with JPRD and University of Jamestown! NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! Join us across from the Winter Sports Building parking lot on September 24th from 4:00pm – 6:00 pm to take in our 3 v 3 street hockey experience. 


We will have equipment to try out, come meet the UJ Mens team and watch them play, join in a  pick up game with them or come with a group of friends and play your own game.  Try swinging a stick and making a goal or just enjoy the experience. Anyone that stops by and checks it out will get a FREE pass to watch a UJ Home hockey game for the Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon game!


  • Each team will play a minimum of 3 games.  All games will be played in the parking lot of the Winter Sports Building.
  • The tournament will run a 3v3 format. There will be no goalies and each game will have a referee.
  • All play will be Co-Ed.  There are no requirements for the number of males or females on each team
  • Please note that if any division has less than 3 teams registered, we reserve the right to cancel that division or combine divisions to fill a bracket
  • Play times are approximate, and subject to change based on registrations. Division schedules will be emailed out to each team contact by September 8th.  Check your own division schedule to see when your team will play and what rink you play on.  Rinks will be labeled when you arrive at the location.
  • Play for Junior and Adult will be in the morning beginning around 10:00am with the youth starting in the early afternoon, sometime after 1:00, after the Junior and Adult divisions are completed.  Times will be shared with team contacts as soon as brackets are set.
  • We will play rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, we will suspend play until there is no lighting within a 12 mile radius. In the event that the weather does not subside after 60 minutes, the event will be canceled.



  • Helmet with cage (hockey helmet, no NHL/ref style with face exposed), hockey gloves, hockey stick and athletic shoes are REQUIRED. (no sandals or flip flops). We will have street hockey sticks available for use but a limited number will need to be shared by all players.
  • We strongly encourage elbow pads, knee or shin pads, mouth guard and protective cup to keep your players fully protected.

9/11 Tribute Climb

Each year on September 11th we keep our stair climbers moving at Two Rivers Activity Center for the full hours of our facility to remember those who lost their lives.  We offer a sign up sheet at the TRAC front desk for anyone who wishes to climb for a 20 minute increment.  We’ve had individuals, families and sports/academic teams sign up in the past, everyone is welcome.  You do not need a TRAC membership to participate.

POUND for Pink

Make some noise for breast cancer awareness with our Pound for Pink in the Bubble at Two Rivers Activity Center on October 15th from 10:00am – 11:30am.  This event is being partnered with JRMC and Central Valley Health.  Enjoy a morning of POUND classes as well as speakers from JRMC and Central Valley Health.  Each participant will receive a t-shirt and gift bag.


Fees: Free will donation with $25/person suggestion.  All proceeds will go to Women’s Way and the No Excuses Campaign.

BOO Bash

BOO Bash at Two Rivers Activity Center is a fun-filled afternoon filled with games for your children.  It’s a great opportunity to get one more use out of their Halloween costumes while they play fun games and win prizes.  This free event is family focused so dress up (please no face coverings/masks) and join us on October 30th at TRAC!

TRAC 3v3 Basketball Tournament

Grab your team and sign up for our annual 3 on 3 basketball tournament to be held on November 20, 2022. We have divisions for boys and girls from 3rd through 8th grade as well an Open Division for anyone in 9th grade to adult.  This tournament benefits the TRAC Scholarship Program. This program supports the cost of a TRAC membership for individuals and families that would not otherwise be able to afford membership.  Save the date as registration will open in October.

Run Now, Gobble Later

Before your large Thanksgiving feast it is time to gather friends and family for our first ever Run Now, Gobble Later 3K and 5K race on November 23rd at 5:30pm.  The races will begin at TRAC and take place outside if the weather holds, if not, the race will take place inside the TRAC Bubble.  Keep your eyes peeled for more information coming soon! 

Fees: $20/Adult, $10/Youth (12 and under)

Grinch Grind Challenge

Join us on December 3rd, 2022 for our Grinch Grind obstacle course challenge at TRAC.  Our obstacle course race will take your fitness regimen out of the box and into a totally new realm. The combination of running and conquering an assortment of obstacles will be both an enjoyable and challenging achievement for anyone that enjoys pushing their limits and enabling their full potential.  Save the date and check out the TRAC Get It Grinch Training if you want help from the TRAC Personal Trainers to help prepare for this fun event.  More information will be coming soon.

Festival of Trees

We are hosting our first ever Festival of Trees at the Bunker on December 2nd!  Businesses/individuals/families can sponsor a tree and decorate it November 28 – 30.  On December 2nd we will display the trees for the public during a wine and cheese social and silent auction of the trees.  The silent auction will be benefitting the Jamestown Parks and Recreation Foundation. Pictures with Santa

Join us on for an afternoon full of merriment at the Bunker on December 11th beginning at noon. Bring the family for a lunch of grilled cheese, carrots and cookies, make an ornament, listen to a Christmas story by Santa and then receive a picture with Santa!  At 2:00pm the doors will open to the public who are only interested in a picture with Santa.


Fees: $20 for the full experience (limited spots available), $10 for a picture only

Cabin Fever Days

February 3rd – 12th


Save the dates for our annual Cabin Fever Days events!  There will be a 4v4 Volleyball Tournament, Kick Ball Tournament, TRAC Pool Carnival including rubber duck races, our 1st ever Snow Castle Competition, Cookies and Cocoa, Open Skate and so much more!

Snow Castle Competition

February 4th, 10:00-1:00pm at the Hansen Arts Park


Now is the time to show off your snow fort building skills.  Who can create the most majestic snow castle in all the land?  With plenty of open space and pristine snow conditions, this will surely be a grand spectacle.  (Dress warmly and bring your snow shovels/building tools!)  Must have 5+ inches of snow on the ground for this event.

Gear Grinder Mountain Bike Race

Jamestown Parks and Recreation announces the race results of the 2022 Gear Grinder Mountain Bike Race and the Pipestem Creek Trail Walk/Run.  The event took place on Saturday, August 13th at the Pipestem Creek Trail.  56 people participated in the event.  Please click the button below to see the full list of winners!

Join us for Mountain Bike races located at the Pipestem Creek Trail, 4 miles north of Jamestown on Highway 281 next to the Pipestem Dam.  There are cash prizes for the top 6 male and female expert finishers. Plus all bikers will be eligible to win a Garmin Edge 530 Mountain Bike Bundle valued at $370 courtesy of 701 Cycle and Sport!


Registration is closed!  We will re-open registration before our 2023 race!



Kids Race (8 and under)



Kids Race is 4 to 5 loops near the Pipestem Dam office.

Beginner’s Race is 6 miles in length.  It starts at Pipestem Office, and follows gravel out to paved road, then returns on 3.5 miles of North Ridge Trail.

Recreational Race is 13.5 miles long and follows the Pipestem Creek Trail and gravel and horse trails.

The Sport race is 21.5 miles in length.  This trail is a combination of the North Ridge Trail and the Pipestem Trail.

The Expert Race is 29.5 miles long.  It expands on the Sport Race by adding an extra lap on the Pipestem Creek Trail.

Saturday, August 13th, 2022

Grab the family and come on out for the Pipestem Creek Trail Walk/Run located at the Pipestem Creek Trail, 4 miles north of Jamestown on Highway 281 next to the Pipestem Dam.  There is something for everyone!  We have a 3 mile walk, 3 mile run and 8 mile run.   Registration is closed.  We will reopen registration closer to the 2023 race date.

The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department and the “Wings on Strings” Kite Club are sponsoring the 27th annual kite festival at Meidinger Park Field (10th St. & 17th Ave. S.W.) on June 10 – 12, 2022.

Kite Fest has become a premier kiting event, attracting kite enthusiasts from across the country and Canada.  The event is free and open to everyone.  Events include fun contests for kids, kite making, candy drops, demonstrations, door prizes and music.

The “Wings on Strings” Kite Club and the Parks and Recreation Department will be conducting a kite building class during the Kite Festival, on Saturday, June 11th.  Materials will be provided.  Children 8 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.  You will be able to fly your kite after the Kite Building Class. Tennis Block Party

Bring the family to Bolinger Tennis Courts and enjoy this fun-filled event offering free tennis instructing by teaching professionals along with plenty of games, activities, music, food and prized for kids and adults.  

Quickstart Tennis Carnival

Join us at Bolinger Tennis Courts for this special day of tennis just for the kids!  Enjoy games, prizes, music, food and fun Kids of all ages and skill levels are welcome.  This is a great way to introduce young kids to the sport if they have never tried before. 



Kids Safety Day is set for June 30, 2022 at the Jamestown Civic Center from 9am to 1pm.


This event is free and open to all kids to age 12. Join us for fun and learning on how to stay safe including a bike rodeo, free bike helmets, weather safety, water safety, and much more!. Community partners participating include: Central Valley Health, Law Enforcement, Fire and Medical Response.


The event is sponsored by the Community Health Partnership Coalition and Central Valley Health



The 63rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt is sponsored by the Elks #995 & Parks & Recreation Dept. and will be held in April 2023 (weather permitting) at 11:00am in McElroy Park.
