We are pleased to once again offer the Healthy Connections Summer Parks Program from June 7th – August 6th, 2021. Please carefully read the below information and complete the Program Registration form. Children will not be allowed to attend the program without a completed Program Registration form on file.
The Healthy Connections Summer Parks Program is free for children 6 years old- 12 years old to attend. The program will be held at Meidinger, Leapaldt, and Nickeus Parks Monday- Friday; 9:00am-12:00pm and 1:00-4:30pm each day. Staff will not be at the park between 12:00 and 1:00pm. A free lunch will be available for children under the age of 18 between 11:30am-12:00pm each day as part of the Summer Meals Program. Please be prompt in picking up your children from the program.
A calendar of events is listed below and shared with your child to bring home. A majority of the program activities will be held in the parks; however, there may be special events that are planned outside of the parks. We will remind children of these days as they arise. There is also a possibility that the program will be cancelled due to rain or bad weather. All closures will be noticed on the radio and on the JPRD website and social media pages.
We will be following health and safety protocols during the program. This means that we may need to limit the number of participants each day based upon attendance. We have hired additional staff to allow for more children to participate but we will be limiting group size to 1 staff person and 14 children. Attendance will be determined on a first come, first serve basis. We hope that we don’t need to turn any children away but it is a possibility. In addition, hand sanitizer will be available at each park as well as soap in the restrooms. The “clubhouses” and restrooms will be disinfected daily.
The program will require each child to complete a daily health screening prior to participating. The screening will include responding to the questions below and taking a temperature. If your child cannot respond No to all of the questions you must not send them to the program that day and we will not allow them to participate.
Children exhibiting any of the above symptoms while at the program will be sent home out of caution.
If children are not able to follow program behavior expectations, endanger the safety of themselves, other children in the program or staff they will be asked to leave the program.
Any questions regarding the program can be directed to; Gabby Brown, Healthy Connections Coordinator, by calling 952-8722 (office) or 651-404-3685 (cell).
