Public Open Skate

 

The Winter Sports Building located at 1009 7th St NE in Jamestown offers public skating from September 2025 through March of 2026. Open skate will be scheduled on the below dates/times each week!

 

2025-26 OPEN SKATE DATES:

 

October, 2025 – March 2026

Wednesday and Sunday evenings

7:00pm – 9:00pm

 

CHANGES:
December 10:  CANCELLED

 

November, 2025 – March 2026

Tuesday and Thursday afternoons

1:00pm – 3:00pm

 

 

Special Theme Nights:

No Public Skate on December 24th

December 31st – 80’s theme night

March 25th – Hockey Jersey theme night

 

These public skate times are set for the entire winter. Weather conditions and the safety of the WSB users is a priority. Any possible cancellations will be posted here and on our Winter Sports Building Facebook page.

Fees: $5/youth, $8/adult, $15/family

 

Skate rentals are available for $5 each.

OUTDOOR SKATING AND WARMING HOUSES

 

JPRD provides outdoor skating rinks during the winter months at McElory Park, Leapaldt Park and Meidinger Park.

 

WARMING HOUSES

 

Warming houses are located at McElroy Park, Leapaldt Park, the Bunker and Meidinger Park.

 

Warming House Hours:

4:00 – 7:00pm Monday through Friday

12:00 – 5:00pm Saturday and Sunday

The Bunker and Park Warming houses will NOT open for skating or sledding if Outdoor Temperature and/or Wind Chill Temperature are -15 degrees or lower.

 

SLEDDING

 

Embrace the winter season with sledding at The Bunker! Bring your family and friends for a day of outdoor fun, then warm up in our cozy warming house. Whether you’re racing down the hill or warming up inside, The Bunker is the perfect winter destination.

Sledding and the warming house are available during the winter months—come join the fun!

The Bunker is located at 1520 3rd St SE in Jamestown.

 

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING

 

There are cross country ski trails at McElroy Park and Hillcrest Golf Course that are groomed as weather allows. You can rent ski’s at the McElroy Park warming house during the hours listed above.
