Jamestown Parks and Recreation District is excited to begin planning for the future of our community’s outdoor pool and invites residents to be part of the conversation. Following the April 29 Open House, this page will serve as a central hub for project information, including concepts shared during the meeting, planning details, and opportunities for continued community input.
As part of the Comprehensive Plan, a Priority Investment Rating was created using community feedback to identify where residents felt recreation and park investments should be prioritized within JPRD.(Ranked 0 – 200 with 200 being the highest score possible.)

It’s a look at where we started, how far we’ve come, and where we’re headed next.
Phased development allows JPRD to turn long-term visions into achievable progress. Projects like TRAC and McElroy Park Field Renovations are designed in stages so improvements can be completed responsibly, with each phase building toward the full project goal.
Green Italic – Future Projects
As part of the Capital Improvement Plan an Outdoor Pool is a Tier 1 Priority. An outdoor aquatic facility has consistently ranked as one of the highest recreation priorities identified by Jamestown residents through the Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Plan and Capital Improvement Planning process.
To better understand what the community wanted to see, Jamestown Parks and Recreation gathered input through a public open house, an online survey, and additional outreach with preschool families and TRAC swim lesson participants. Nearly 90% of participants agreed the planning effort was moving in the right direction, with many expressing excitement about creating a modern outdoor aquatic destination for Jamestown.

As the project moves forward, Jamestown Parks and Recreation will continue working with residents, swimming lesson instructors, families, accessibility advocates, and other stakeholders to refine the layout, amenities, and operational needs of the facility.
This collaborative approach ensures the final design reflects both community priorities and long-term financial sustainability while creating an outdoor aquatic destination that can serve Jamestown for generations.
