A Place Where Everyone Can Play

Jamestown Parks and Recreation is proud to welcome families to the Nickeus Park All-Abilities Playground—a community space designed to ensure children of all abilities can play, learn, and grow together.

More than just a playground, this project was created to remove barriers and provide opportunities for children with physical, cognitive, sensory, and developmental differences to enjoy the benefits of play alongside their peers. Every child deserves a place where they feel included, challenged, and valued, and the Nickeus Park All-Abilities Playground was built with that vision in mind.

Located in southwest Jamestown, the playground serves as a destination for families throughout the region and reflects our community’s commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and recreation for all.

What is an All-Abilities Playground?

An all-abilities playground is intentionally designed to be accessible and welcoming for people of varying ages and abilities. Features may include accessible routes, inclusive play equipment, sensory-rich experiences, and spaces that encourage children of all abilities to interact and play together.

Unlike traditional playgrounds, all-abilities playgrounds focus on creating an environment where everyone can participate, explore, and experience the joy of play without unnecessary barriers.

At Nickeus Park, children and families can enjoy a variety of inclusive play opportunities while benefiting from accessible pathways, gathering spaces, and amenities designed with accessibility in mind.
